In support of the UK government’s target of becoming net zero by 2050, we are striving to inspire and encourage our network to join us on our journey towards sustainable music-making. Green Production Music enables our partners to create beautiful, innovative, and environmentally friendly music that contributes to making our world a greener place to live and work in.
Universal Production Music partners with BAFTA albert’s Green Light Season
Universal Production Music UK is the official partner of BAFTA albert’s Green Light Season, a series of exclusive events and masterclasses led by industry experts and sustainability activists, aimed at inspiring action and promoting more sustainable production practices in the film and television industry.
Through this partnership, we will promote long-term on- and off-screen changes to cut our carbon footprint and embed sustainability in the production process. Our Green Production Music will soundtrack the event’s social media content and be played during the events, encouraging discussions with BAFTA members and UK screen industry leaders.
THE GREEN ROOM WITH JESSE QUIN
Jesse Quin, best known as the bassist for Keane, also runs the Old Jet Arts Centre in Suffolk, UK, an innovative creative hub he founded on a former US Air Force base.
Featured in our new series, The Green Room, Jesse shares how Old Jet operates entirely on renewable energy from an on-site biomass digestion plant, setting a powerful example for sustainability in the music industry as part of our Green Production Music initiative.
Soundtrack for a greener future
We have partnered with Pilio, a leading energy and environmental innovation company, to establish a set of Go Green Guidelines and create carbon-conscious music. The collection of Green Production Music is carefully crafted by composers who adhere to the Go Green Guidelines.
