Universal Production Music presents ‘I AM WOMAN’

 

Released to coincide with Women’s History Month, Universal Production Music presents I AM WOMAN. An album celebrating all things women, I AM WOMAN is a collection of songs reflecting on what it's like to be a woman in today's society. It's got pop anthems, electronic bops, hip hop trap & more. Featuring so many incredibly talented songwriters and artists, including Sadie, Maeve Riley, Rose, Kéo, Shardé, Rachel Gorman, Kaien Cruz, Kaitlin Stark, Jaygee & Morgan Keller. Created as part of The Future Is Female initiative to champion underrepresented communities in production music and build a more female empowered repertoire, I AM WOMAN is the latest in a series of all-female crafted albums that have produced tracks heard on national ad campaigns, The CW and Netflix.

Jamie Gelman

Jamie Gelman is a songwriter, pianist, and producer born and raised in New York City. When she’s not making music, she’s working on the business side of the industry, boasting internships with Mike Caren’s Artist Publishing Group, DJ/Producer Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak records, Artist Manager/Music Executive Binta Brown, and more. Jamie's most recent co-write with artist Emei “Late To the Party” has received over 2 million streams on Spotify alone, made the cover of Spotify’s Fresh Finds Pop playlist and features on Fresh Finds, Young & Free, and Next Gen Singer/Songwriter, and was added to Sirius XM radio station The Pulse’s weekend rotation. She has devoted this year to adding dozens of demos to her catalogue and collaborating with other established artists and producers.

Kaien Cruz

Kaien Cruz is a 23 year-old Pop, R&B singer/songwriter from a small town on the Eastern coast of South Africa. Their career jump-started after recording their first single ‘Love Me In The Dark’, quickly rising into the top charts and getting nominated for Song of the Year at the South African Music Awards. Rushing into the spotlight, Kaien had their debut performance in front of 90,000 people opening for Justin Bieber’s Purpose Tour. Inspired and determined, they found a way to Los Angeles, where they found management, signed to CAA, and independently released their long-awaited EP ‘Demos For Ransom’.

Since the release, Kaien has soared back into the limelight, performing in some of the world’s most celebrated venues in their first ever North American Tour. They are currently set to perform at some of the biggest stages in 2022 including Governor’s Ball in NYC & SXSW in Austin, Texas. Being sought out by every major label, Kaien Cruz is simultaneously championing for artists to retain creative control by utilizing all of the tools Web3 & the dynamic crypto space have to offer. Cruz hopes to uplift, encourage & elevate a more forward-thinking, mixed generation in music, entertainment & tech.

 

Kaitlin Stark

Kaitlin Stark is a young, new-on-the-scene Nashville based songwriter originally from Woodstock, GA. Inspired by the likes of Taylor Swift, Sasha Alex Sloan, and Julia Michaels, Kaitlin writes songs that transport listeners to relatable life moments, touching on emotions and themes common to most, but expressed lyrically in ways never before heard. She plays both guitar and keys and is known by those who have worked with her as a true craftsperson of melody. She recently signed to Groundwork Artist Management and has written with everyone from writers such as Isabella Kearney-Nurse (The Veronicas, Guy Sebastian), Mike Campbell (Christina Aguilera, Daya), Mike Kammerman (Chainsmokers, Smallpools), Kyle Kelso (Kygo, Parachute) to burgeoning artists such as Aiden Martin (X Factor), Ben Böemer (a song on which her vocal is featured), Rachel Grae (Becoming a Pop Star), Laur Elle, Blake Proehl among many others.

 

Kéo

Kéo is an R&B/Pop artist on the rise, based out of Los Angeles, CA. For the past year or so, Kéo has been writing and cutting vocals behind the scenes for MTV, VH1, USA Network, TLC, Bravo, and many more of the biggest TV shows and networks in the industry. With a clean, polished and top-tier quality vocal, Kéo has solidified her place in the game. Kéo’s signature has always been a smooth and buttery vocal, razor-sharp penmanship and an undeniably clever wheelhouse of vocal production.

 

Maeve Riley

Maeve Riley grew up in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Over the years, her career has spanned across the greater Los Angeles and New York areas. In December 2020, Maeve appeared on FOX's I Can See Your Voice. Her Secret Voice alias was "The Lifeguard." Immediately following her appearance on the show, Maeve produced, directed, arranged, and performed in a virtual mashup of Auld Lang Syne and Hard Times Come Again No More with twenty-four of her fellow Secret Voices from Season 1. This arrangement was picked up by FOX for New Year’s Eve promotion and led to her position as a vocal coach on Season 2 of I Can See Your Voice. Since her time on the show, she has performed with the likes of Jason Mraz, JoJo, Ashanti, Jewel, LeAnn Rimes, Wanya Morris, Macy Gray, Kelly Rowland, Debbie Gibson, Rachel Platten, and Kandi Burruss.  Maeve continues to pursue opportunities in music, film, theatre, and television in Los Angeles and New York.

 

Morgan Keller

Tongue-in-cheek lyricism and pop-sensible melodies mixed with gritty, raw, Hayley Williams-esque vocal prowess is what is making everyone talk about pop songstress, Morgan Keller. The wide-ranging appeal of her music stems from her diverse influences; from Adele to Julia Michaels to Aerosmith, Morgan seamlessly forges the gap between pop/rock and soul in an accessible, authentic way. After the successful release of her debut EP “Glitter & Gold” which she recorded throughout her college career in New York City, this fierce front woman swapped coasts to break into the Los Angeles music scene—where she is currently working on her debut album.

Sadie Rose Van

Sadie Rose Van is multi-talented singer, songwriter, and musician from Southern California. Having watched her mom perform on the local music scene, Sadie knew as early as the age of 3 that she too would perform. Sadie started writing music and performing at the age of 13. She quickly began to be acknowledged for her talents on a national level. Sadie was then signed as an artist to Ingrooves/UMG in 2019. Sadie's hit, “Celebrate", became Disney/ABC Television's title song for the 2020 International Emmy Awards! Sadie has a working relationship with movie trailer composers Mark Hannah and Isaac Hanson. Her original sound has continued to evolve as she writes original tracks for herself and other artists. 

Shardé

Hailing from Los Angeles, singer and rapper Shardé has a special west coast flavor that is the force behind her artistry. Shardé is a vocal powerhouse and her ability to blend her vocal power over a smooth hip hop beat is her signature. In one song she is able to deliver soulful vocals and a head-bobbing rap verse creating her unique sound. As a well-rounded artist, she believes that hard work and determination is the key to any pursuit. Her great attitude, professionalism and positive disposition makes her easy to create with. Keep an eye out for this rising star. She is on her way to greatness.
